What is indicated about the past life of the man and the girl? How? What has happened to the quality of their relationship? Why? How do we know? How accurate is the man's judgment about their future?
That whatever there about to do in the story is something that they've never done before and there somewhat nervous about it. Their relationship kind of seperated a little because they argue and the man is trying to convince the girl to help him smuggle absinthe. The woman tells him to stop talking to her because she doesn't like what he's saying. The man seems to be very sure about their future because he's always saying we can have it all or it's all ours. He says that he knows many people have done it before and that their operation is fairly simple.
